Financial Business Solutions Post Covid (Webinar by Women In Business)

WBN Series Host Mira Yasiri is joined by 4 industry experts to discuss Financial Business Solutions Post Covid 19. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many small business owners have considered debt and other avenues of finance to keep their businesses afloat. Some are accessing government loans and support programs. This episode will provide small business owners with guidance on financing and alternative solutions and resources available to assist as they navigate current challenges and begin to reopen.

Pamela George,
Founder and Credit Counsellor of Financial Literacy 
Pamela George is a Financial Literacy and Credit Counsellor who helps alleviate the stress and anxiety caused by money problems. She has helped her clients pay off debt without damaging their credit; have enough money to travel for the first time in years, and even build up that ever-elusive emergency fund. Pamela is an Accredited Financial Counsellor of Canada (AFCC) and a member of the Association of Financial Counselling, Planning and Education (AFCPE). 
Laura Didyk,
Vice President and National Lead, Women Entrepreneurs at BDC
Laura is passionate about helping entrepreneurs start and grow their business. She also leads BDC’s national strategy to support Canadian women entrepreneurs. Currently, only 16% of small and medium-sized businesses are majority women-owned. BDC, Canada’s only bank dedicated to entrepreneurs, has a bold mandate to increase that number and Laura is leading to charge to ensure integration across the bank and awareness among Canadians.
Jaime Whetstone, Business Advisor at CIBC As your business advisor, Jaime Whetstone has the expertise to provide you with advice and tailored solutions to help you reach your business and personal financial goals. Jaime has been in the financial services industry since 2009 and her qualifications include Moody’s Certificate in Small Business Banking. With this knowledge and experience, Jaime is able to understand the unique issues facing business owners and will provide integrated solutions and advice to help you and your business succeed. Jaime’s portfolio focuses heavily on professional clients which allows her to share her expertise and understanding of your business. 
Leah holds a passion for entrepreneurship and truly believes that if more small businesses succeed, Canada succeeds. In her current role as an Account Manager at Export Development Canada, Leah works with small and medium sized businesses who are seeking to increase their international growth. Through EDC’s insurance, finance and knowledge products she helps more entrepreneurs to reach their goals of taking on the world. Leah holds a degree in International Business with a Concentration in International Marketing and Trade. Through pursuing further studies related to International Trade, Leah has achieved her FITT Diploma in International Trade and is a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP). 



Series Host: ​WBN Member Mira Yasiri – Business Development Manager, Business Banking at CIBC 

As a Business Development Manager, Mira provides businesses with specialized business expertise to help them meet their business and financial goals. She has been in the financial services industry since 2005 and qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce. With this specialized knowledge and experience, she is able to understand the unique opportunities and challenges business owners face. Working with CIBC allows her to work with businesses to find the right team of specialists within CIBC that will help build a plan that meets the needs of each unique business.
